News & Updates New Script dssr_block is a wrapper for DSSR (3dna) and creates block-shaped nucleic acid cartoons New Plugin LiSiCA is a new plugin for 2D and 3D ligand based virtual screening using a fast maximum clique algorithm. Official Release PyMOL v1.8.0 has been released on Nov 18, 2015. PyMOL Open-Source Fellowship Schrödinger is now accepting applications for the PyMOL Open-Source Fellowship program! New Plugin PyANM is a new plugin for easier Anisotropic Network Model (ANM) building and visualising in PyMOL. New Plugin Bondpack is a collection of PyMOL plugins for easy visualization of atomic bonds. New Plugin MOLE 2.0 is a new plugin for rapid analysis of biomacromolecular channels in PyMOL. 3D using Geforce PyMOL can now be visualized in 3D using Nvidia GeForce video cards (series 400+) with 120Hz monitors and Nvidia 3D Vision, this was previously only possible with Quadro video cards. Did you know... Plugins Plugins are external modules that add functionality to PyMOL. Plugins can be single Python files (*.py) or directories with an __init__.py file (see PluginArchitecture). Looking for available Plugins? Browse the plugins category. Installing Plugins To install a plugin, open PyMOL and then go to Plugin > Plugin Manager > Install new plugin You will have the option to install from a file on your computer (*.py, *.zip) or directly from the PyMOLWiki by providing the wiki page url. Writing Plugins See the Plugins Tutorial. Legacy Notes Before Version 2.0 Plugins written with PyQt5 do not run in PyMOL 1.x. PyMOL 2.x has a legacy layer for Tkinter to support old plugins, but the preferred toolkit for new plguins is PyQt5. Before Version 1.5.0.6 Before PyMOL's Plugin Manager was added in version 1.5.0.6, plugins could not be installed per user, the plugin search path was a single directory ..→
