spectrum_states colors each state in a multi-state object different. Colors are along a user defined palette, just like with the spectrumany command.
Usage
spectrum_states [ selection [, representations [, color_list ]]]
Example

# show ribbon in all states
as ribbon
set all_states
# color states from dark gray to red
